We’d like to take a moment to acknowledge Monica Blais. Monica frequently talked about the work she did developing Project Respect over 20 years ago. She was very proud of it, and was recruited to do anti-violence / violence prevention work with the provincial government as a result of her work with VSAC.
We are sad to share that Monica has passed away, but the legacy of her amazing work carries on and continues to make an impact on Project Respect.
Project Respect brings together youth and adults to create awareness and dialogue about sexualized violence by encouraging critical thinking about root causes such as gender expectations and stereotypes, systems of power, and the ongoing colonization of the lands and systems we live in.
Project Respect is in their Knowledge Mobilization year and a lot has happened in the last six months from the amazing work with our School and Community Programs.
